Seharum Nusantara spokesperson Thia Taylor said the response from local multicultural groups has exceeded all expectations.

“So far we’ve locked in activities, food or cultural items from French, Nigerian, Taiwanese, Indonesian, Mexican, Japanese, Korean and Irish cultural groups,” she said.

The Mother’s Day Multicultural Festival is set for 13th May, 10 am to 3 pm at the Broadwater Parkland on Marine Parade, Southport.

Mrs Taylor said activities for the day are mounting up rapidly as well.

“So far we have massage, eyebrows threading, henna tattooing, sand art, crafts for kids, a land train, jumping castle, free face panting, free children’s playground/activities, dance workshops and Tai Chi/Falun Gong workshops,” she said.

“There will also be a giant raffle, with the first prize being a Brisbane-Taipei-Brisbane return airfare with Eva Air.”

This event is sponsored by the Department of Social Services of Queensland and the Homestates Group.

Community multicultural groups interested should contact Thia Taylor on 0410 507 035 or email seharumgc@gmail.com.
