WITH THE goal of bridging cultures and celebrating our cultural diversity, Gold Coast non-profit Seharum Nusantara is holding an Exotic Indonesia Gala Night in the Quality Hotel Ballroom in Mermaid Waters on December 1st.
The organisation’s Secretary Widya Wright explained the core reason for Seharum Nusantara is to share multicultural diversity among the community, not just on the Gold Coast, but also around Australia and internationally.
“One great example of our sharing is how we raised almost $5000 for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami recently in Sulawesi,” she said.
“Another example is how we are helping Theiss celebrate 30 years of working with Indonesia at the end of this month.
“But we also regularly hold functions like our monthly Bazaar to forge bonds between not only other Gold Coast cultural communities but also the Gold Coast community at large.”
Widya also detailed how the upcoming Gala night itself was a perfect example of a combination of cultures.
“Along with all our prizes and our exclusive fashion parade, we found our DJ – Feelgood DJs – for the evening on Gumtree.
“They specialise in quality music experiences and good vibes. Feelgood are a professional DJ service that is passionate about their work and are dedicated to making our Exotic Indonesia Gala Night one to remember.
“And remember, funds raised at our Exotic Indonesia Gala night will also go to our Gold Coast community activities as well as the earthquake and tsunami victims.”
The event will be held in the Quality Hotel Ballroom in Mermaid Waters on Saturday, December 1, 2019 at 6.30 pm.
Tickets are top value, selling at $60 per person for SN members, and $65 for non-members.
